One such partner is Hedley Technologies Ltd., a subsidiary of BioSyent Inc., who has been developing and marketing insecticides for more than 30 years. Their flagship product, Protect-It®, plays a vital role in safeguarding stored grain and commodities across Canada, the United States, and international markets.

When Hedley approached us in 2021, they were looking for a new Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) to produce Protect-It®. The product’s manufacturing process presented challenges: production is not constant but runs in campaigns that shift with market demand, and the product itself is challenging to manufacture. For many manufacturers, this variability and complexity would be a reason to decline. At Agrisan, we saw it as an opportunity.

We invested in process optimization equipment—including a box erector, box sealer, conveyor, and electric impactor—as well as a ventilation system to ensure safe, efficient production. Together with Hedley, we identified new packaging components to reduce static build-up, developed pre-printed shipper boxes to streamline labelling, and optimized workflows to support three SKUs. We also secured an EPA site licence, allowing us to serve as Hedley’s long-term production site.

Since the start of our partnership Agrisan’s flexibility has also been tested—and proven—under tight deadlines. A recent urgent order to be shipped internationally, normally a six-week process, was completed in just three weeks thanks to the dedication and adaptability of our staff. While every request comes with unique challenges, our promise is to approach each one with dedication, flexibility, and a solutions-driven mindset—always striving to deliver outcomes that support our customers’ success.
